It’s been a well-talked about topic in these last couple of weeks, seeming as though we’re all stuck in quarantine and baseball is put to a halt as of right now. That gives us time to talk about things that we probably wouldn’t talk about had there been baseball games going on, such as the debate over whether Ryan Braun’s number should be retired.
It’s an honorable achievement to have your uniform number retired. The Brewers last retired a number in 2015, when they retired #1 for founder and former MLB commissioner, Bud Selig. Other numbers that the Brewers have retired are #44 (Hank Aaron in 1976), #34 (Rollie Fingers in 1992), #42 (Jackie Robinson, 1997, league-wide retirement), #19 (Robin Yount in 1994), and #4 (Paul Molitor in 1999).
