In somewhat of a surprising move, the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday optioned struggling starting pitcher Taylor Jungmann to Class AAA Colorado Springs.
Reliever David Goforth was recalled to take Jungmann's spot on the 25-man roster.
Jungmann exits with an 0-4 record and 9.15 earned run average in five starts, the most recent of which came Thursday. In that game, a 7-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, the right-hander lasted only 32/3 innings, allowing six hits, five runs (earned) and three walks while also hitting two batters.
In three of his five starts this season, Jungmann pitched four innings or fewer.
