Brewers' Scooter Gennett back in action, ready to step up game at the plate

Scooter Gennettwas back in a Milwaukee Brewers uniform on Thursday — for good, he hopes.

The second baseman was optioned to Class AAA Colorado Springs on May 18 after hitting just .154 with one home run and three runs batted in to start the season. But he was recalled Thursday, immediately placed in the starting lineup and had the winning hit as the Brewers opened a six-game homestand against the Washington Nationals.

Gennett hit .307 with two homers and 11 RBI in 17 games for the SkySox, and he said he returns to Milwaukee in a good place at the plate.
