With the trade deadline looming I think there was more interest in who wasn’t in today’s lineup that in the actual game itself—though it was a fun and competitive game to watch. Jonathan Lucroy didn’t start, which set Twitter on fire. Of course he never starts a day game after catching a night game. Jonathan Villar was also out of the lineup—though that was more of a punishment learning opportunity. If that wasn’t enough, Ryan Braun was scratched just before start time. The word eventually came out that it was for right side tightness. Despite all the buzz early this afternoon, there’s been no word of an imminent trade.
