The Milwaukee Brewers have had another player added to the Futures Game roster at the All Star break. MLB Pipeline’s #4 Brewer prospect Luis Ortiz, a right handed pitcher playing this season at AA Biloxi, is an injury replacement.
Ortiz, 22, came to Milwaukee from the Texas Rangers organization in the Jonathan Lucroy/Jeremy Jeffress trade in 2016. He has never worked more than the 94.1 innings he pitched last season, and has gone 49 innings this season with an ERA of 4.41 and a 1.327 ERA. He has walked just 16 in his 49 innings, and has notched 2 saves.
