MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers on Monday announced enhanced job titles for three of general manager David Stearns and assistant GM Matt Arnold's top lieutenants: Karl Mueller was promoted to vice president of player personnel, Matt Kleine to director of baseball operations and Scott Campbell to special assignment scout.
"Karl, Matt and Scott are important members of our baseball-operations structure and we value their significant contributions to the organization," said Stearns. "Each has a unique skill set that impacts many of the baseball decisions that are made year-round."
All three are longtime members of Milwaukee's front office. Mueller joined the Brewers in January 2004 and helped the club expand its video scouting efforts as coordinator and then manager of advance scouting and baseball research (2005-10), director of video scouting and baseball research ('11-15) and, after Stearns took over as GM, director of baseball operations ('16-17).
