MILWAUKEE -- Brewers general manager David Stearns has revealed his long-term strategy in small doses, the latest coming earlier this week during a discussion about completing a coaching staff.
"I think we recognize that we're going to have a young roster, whether that's this year, next year, the year after," Stearns said. "We're going to have a young group of core players for the foreseeable future, and we want to make sure that we surrounded them with members of a staff who are used to and comfortable with working with younger players."
Stearns' predecessor, Doug Melvin, began the process of skewing young with a series of trades in July and August, and the question now is how far Stearns will continue that effort.
