Brewers finalize 2-year deal with Albers

MILWAUKEE -- Baseball's busiest team struck again Monday, when the Brewers agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal with free-agent reliever Matt Albers that was finalized Tuesday afternoon.

The Brewers designated catcher Andrew Susac for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for Albers, whose choice was first reported by MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal and Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.

Albers, 35, has already pitched in the Majors for seven different teams over the past 12 seasons and has been getting better with age, compiling a 2.89 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP over the past six seasons.
