It should be a pretty good pitcher’s duel when both starters have a combined ERA below 2.00, and Sunday’s series finale between Lance Lynn of the Chicago White Sox and Brandon Woodruff of the Milwaukee Brewers did not disappoint. Unfortunately, some early hiccups cost the homestanding Brewers the chance to sweep this series away.
Brandon Woodruff only got scraped up in one inning, the second. He allowed Yoan Moncada to reach on a leadoff single, but then erased him on a double play ball by Andrew Vaughn. The wheels came off a bit with two outs, however. Brian Goodwin walked, then Leury Garcia singled to put runners on first and second.
