The Milwaukee Brewers have declined their $10.5-million club option on closer Devin Williams, instead paying him a $250,000 buyout and entering arbitration in his final year before hitting the open market in free agency.

Williams, 30, is in his final year of arbitration and is projected to earn around $8 million. ESPN reporter Jeff Passan projects $8-$9 million, while MLB Trade Rumors projects $7.
