MILWAUKEE -- The pain of losing the Southern League Championship Series on Monday night was short-lived for six of the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers, whose seasons continued Tuesday in the big leagues.
The Brewers promoted pitchers Yhonathan Barrios, Adrian Houser, Jorge Lopez and Tyler Wagner, outfielder Michael Reed and infielder Yadiel Rivera to the Majors, and the group spent Tuesday traveling together to Chicago. The Brewers moved Jimmy Nelson and Michael Blazek to the 60-day disabled list to create the space they needed on a now-full 40-man roster.
The reinforcements are needed; The Brewers had a "bullpen day" in store against the Cubs, with reliever Tyler Cravy starting in Nelson's place after Nelson was hit in the head by a line drive Thursday and was subsequently shut down.
