The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired left-hander Tyler Jay in a minor deal with the New York Mets, sending right-hander TJ Shook back to New York.
Jay, 30, was a first-round pick by the Twins in 2015 but didn’t make his MLB debut until this season with the Mets. In three MLB appearances with New York, he went 4 2⁄3 innings, striking out three and allowing four earned runs on seven hits and three walks.
He’s bounced around the minors for the last several years, finding success at Triple-A Syracuse this season with a 2.
