The Brewers officially activated second baseman Scooter Gennett from the disabled list Tuesday, the team announced on Twitter. To make room for him on the roster, outfielder Logan Schafer has been optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Gennett was placed on the DL after slicing his hand open in the shower while reaching for body wash following the team's game April 19. Since that time, the Brewers have used Hector Gomez and Elian Herrera to man the position. Over the last 14 days, those two have combined to hit .206/.254/.365 at the position.
