The Brewer’s landed OF Rymer Liriano from the Padres on Thursday in a trade that sent minor-leaguer left-hand pitcher Trevor Seidenberger to San Diego. Originally thought to be a key part of the Padres’ future, Liriano was designated for assignment last week in order to make room for Alexie Ramirez.
Liriano was signed by the Padres in 2007 and was touted as a key future player but spent most of the season shuffling around the Padres farm systems. His lone stint in the majors came in 2014 when he hit .220/.289/.266 over 38 games before being sent back to Triple-A El Paso where he spent all of last season.
