The Cubs expect to activate third baseman Kris Bryant and shortstop Addison Russell from the disabled list before Saturday night's game against the Phillies, which Bryant is expected to start, manager Joe Maddon announced on Friday.
Bryant has been on the DL since July 26 with left shoulder inflammation, and Russell has been out since Aug. 20 with a sprained left middle finger.
Josh Donaldson's tenure with the Blue Jays has included an American League Most Valuable Player Award and consecutive AL Championship Series berths.
