The calendar has finally turned over to 2018, meaning that the Major League Baseball offseason is now roughly halfway complete. Only another six weeks until pitchers and catchers report!
Our local nine has been only modestly active this winter, especially in comparison to the previous two offseasons under Slingin’ David Stearns. The rebuild is complete, so the Brewers are no longer in the mode of trading established major league players for prospects. We have also started to see many of the prospects acquired in the last three seasons by either Stearns or his predecessor Doug Melvin come up and start making an impact at the MLB level.
