Phoenix — Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said Monday veteran infielder Aaron Hill will get first crack at being the team's primary third baseman.
"Aaron Hill is what I'm looking at, at third base," Counsell said. "Aaron is going to spend quite a bit of time there, especially in the spring. How the season plays out, you're a little more open to (other options), but now I'm thinking Aaron at third base."
Hill, 33, has been primarily a second baseman during his 11 years in the major leagues. He has started 1,148 games there, compared to 72 games at third base and 61 at shortstop.
