A strong start by Junior Guerra helped set the stage for the Milwaukee Brewers' first shutout of the season.

Guerra pitched six innings and the bullpen slammed the door behind him as the Brewers knocked off the San Diego Padres, 1-0, on Friday night at Miller Park.

Guerra allowed only two hits and two walks, and Michael Blazek, Tyler Thornburg and Jeremy Jeffress each pitched a scoreless inning to improve the Brewers' all-time record to 26-15 in games played on Friday the 13th.

The Brewers had prime scoring opportunities in the first, third and fifth innings against Friday call-up Christian Friedrich but came away with only the one run.
