In a year in which the offense has gone AWOL for weeks at a time and the starting rotation has sprung more leaks than a cheap umbrella, the Milwaukee Brewers' bullpen has been a welcomed oasis.
All relief corps have their rough days, especially those exposed to heavy usage. But the Brewers' bullpen has been mostly solid and features relievers bound to attract attention from needy teams before the July 31 non-trade deadline.
"I've been involved with a few bullpens and I don't see a weakness in our pen," said left-hander Neal Cotts, who pitched previously for the White Sox, Cubs and Rangers before signing as a free agent with the Brewers.
