What if there was a ticket you could purchase that would guarantee you entry to any baseball game not just next season, but ANY season? The Milwaukee Brewers are selling 1,000 "Timeless Tickets" that can be redeemed for any single game, whether it is Opening Day, Game 7 of the World Series or any game in between.
This "Timeless Ticket" was originally introduced in October of 2014, but the offer now includes vouchers for nine additional games, excluding Opening Day and postseason games. The package, which costs $1,000, also includes the following details according to Brewers blog "Cait Covers the Bases:"
- Each ticket is individually numbered, comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and is packaged in a specially-designed gift box.
- Each ticket is authenticated by Major League Baseball and includes its own registered ID number under the MLB Authentication program.
- The ticket weighs approximately one pound, is 6.25” by 3.5,” and sits in a wood display base.
Although a World Series game may be the ultimate use of the ticket, there are a couple other scenarios it may be nice to have a better chance of scoring a tough ticket at Miller Park:
- A legend is playing their last game in Milwaukee
- A season or career record is set to be broken
- The first game of a newly acquired player
- A critical late-season divisional game
Don't think this is just a one-person deal either. The "Timeless Ticket" also enables you to purchase up to three additional tickets for the game you redeem it for. The seat or seats you obtain with the "Timeless Ticket" are subject to the availability for that game, but requesting a ticket for a game that does not end up happening (Game 7 for example) will not result in the loss of the ticket.
Depending on how long this ticket is saved, it could prove to be a sound investment. Baseball tickets have not been getting much cheaper in recent years. According to SeatGeek, the average World Series ticket for Game 1 in Kansas City was going for over $1,000 on the secondary market. Inflation could also make what may seem to be a high price tag of $1,000 look like a steal in a couple decades. The only question will be if you are willing to let that ticket and its brass representation sit until the Brewers play in a meaningful enough game.
