Hamburg are ready to go toe-to-toe with Middlesbrough for the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Westfalenstadion this season and he is ready to move on.
Middlesbrough are tracking the centre-back and they almost signed him during the summer only for the deal to broke down at the 11th hour due to fitness issues.
The Premier League club, however, had been expected to return for Subotic during the January transfer window as their boss Aitor Karanka is a big fan of the Serbian.
