Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce believes his side have to play against themselves, rather than Middlesbrough, in their Premier League game on Saturday.
The Eagles sit 19th in the league table ahead of Saturday's visit of fellow strugglers Boro having taken just four points out of the 24 on offer since Allardyce was appointed in December.
The 62-year-old former England boss has never been relegated from the top-flight and kept Sunderland afloat against all the odds last season.
However, Allardyce hinted at a mental fragility amongst his squad and believes that conquering that is the key to gaining results no matter who the opposition is.
