Morgan Rogers is believed to be keen to join Aston Villa after Middlesbrough rejected two bids from the Premier League high-fliers for their forward.
Rogers has been targeted by Villa boss Unai Emery as a key reinforcement this month and it remains to be seen if Villa return with a third offer for the 21-year-old, who is valued at about £10million by Boro.
Rogers has seven goals and eight assists in all competitions this term and has thrived under boss Michael Carrick.
Villa face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup on Friday, with Villa forward Jhon Duran the subject of interest from the London club.
