Middlesbrough have taken their summer spending past £40million with the £6.5m arrival of striker Ashley Fletcher from West Ham.
New manager Garry Monk has splashed out more than £30m on a new forward line in the past fortnight alone, Fletcher following on from the £15m club-record signing of Britt Assombalonga and the £9m addition of Martin Braithwaite.
Fletcher, 21, has penned a four-year deal at the Riverside Stadium having passed a medical and agreed personal terms at the club’s Rockliffe Park training ground on Thursday.
