Steve Agnew says Middlesbrough owner Steve Gibson will be doing 'everything in his power' to ensure their return to the Championship is a temporary one.
The chairman said last week that he intends to 'smash' the second tier next season and he will appoint a new manager in the coming weeks.
Head coach Agnew could yet remain at the club in a coaching capacity, but he says it is the presence of Gibson which gives them the advantage.

'What he said (last week) is massively important,' said Agnew.
