Middlesbrough have reportedly made their decision on Michael Carrick as the under-fire manager received a vote of confidence from the club's chairman Steve Gibson.
It comes after the Championship side dropped to 11th place in the league table following their 1-0 defeat by Watford at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.
Despite initial aspirations for a promotion at the end of the season, those hopes have now faded as Carrick's team lost six of their last seven games.
They are currently on a four-game winless streak, with previous losses to Preston, Sunderland, and Sheffield United.
