Ben Gibson could now stay at Middlesbrough and help his boyhood club regain promotion to the Premier League.
Interim boss Steve Agnew has revealed that the defender has indicated no desire to leave following relegation and has instead spoken of a ‘determination’ to stay on in the Championship.
Gibson, 24, has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months, although firm interest is yet to materialise.
