Middlesborough FC transfer news: Summer signing Viktor Fischer fears his bench role at the Riverside will cost him on the international stage with Denmark

Viktor Fischer is determined to secure a starting spot at Middlesbrough amid fears he could be dropped by Denmark.

The 22-year-old moved to the Riverside from Ajax in the summer for a fee of around £3.8 million, but he has so far been restricted to appearances off the bench.

The winger has been on international duty this week and he assisted the game's only goal for Tottenham's Christian Eriksen as Denmark beat Armenia 1-0 on Sunday.

But Fischer is still fearful that he could be axed from the international setup if he does not starting playing regularly for Middlesbrough.
