Ryan Giggs is not on the shortlist to become the next manager of Middlesbrough, Sportsmail understands.
Chairman Steve Gibson has drawn up a list of several targets to replace head coach Steve Agnew and the name of the former Manchester United assistant is not among them.
Giggs has not spoken to the Teessiders and there are no plans for the club’s hierarchy to make contact, despite the 43-year-old being bookmakers’ favourite for the position.
Agnew replaced the sacked Aitor Karanka in March but was unable to save the team from relegation back to the Championship.
