Manchester City are weighing up a move for Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson.
The 24-year-old has been on Pep Guardiola's radar for several months though City have been considering other, more experienced options.
West Bromwich Albion have made a couple of offers going up to £20million for the former England U21 international but those have been rejected with Middlesbrough manager Garry Monk being informed he does not have to sell unless they receive an exceptional offer.
Left-sided defender Gibson still has aspirations of making Gareth Southgate's England World Cup squad next summer but has been pragmatic as he concentrates on gaining promotion back to the Premier League.
