Garry Monk’s return to Elland Road ended in disappointment as Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski helped Leeds get back to winning ways despite conceding a controversial penalty late on.
Hernandez slotted home at the back-post midway through the first-half after Alioski’s cross was flicked on by Kalvin Phillips.
The Spaniard then turned provider for Alioski, who tapped in to double his side’s lead after a superb run from Kemar Roofe in the build-up.
A hugely contentious penalty was dispatched by Britt Assombalonga to set up a tense last 15 minutes, but the Whites held on to end a run of three straight defeats.
