Hartlepool United are facing the threat of administration if they cannot raise around £200,000 within the next two weeks.
The non-League club was officially put up for sale before Christmas amid spiralling debts and now find themselves in a desperate situation.
Their supporters have issued an SOS by setting up a funding page while Middlesbrough fans are also looking to help their North East neighbours.
Hartlepool once helped save Boro from going into liquidation in 1986 by lending them their Victoria Park Stadium.
