Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Britt Assombalonga from Nottingham Forest for a club-record fee, the Teesside club have announced.
The 24-year-old, who scored 30 goals in 69 games for Forest, leaves after three years at the City Ground. Boro claim to have fought off Premier League competition to secure his services, though the length of his deal at the Riverside has not been confirmed.
Assombalonga told the official Middlesbrough website: “I can’t wait to get started and train with the boys. I’m glad it’s completed and I can focus on what’s ahead now.
