Superfan and qualified referee David Thornhill was called upon for fourth official duties

FAN OF THE WEEK (No 1) - DAVID THORNHILL

David Thornhill was highlighted in Norwich’s programme as a superfan — and then he rescued their game against Preston.

Assistant referee Mark Jones was injured and had to be replaced by fourth official Andy Davies.

That meant there was nobody to take Davies’s place on the touchline. The game was set to be called off, but Thornhill (left), a qualified referee, took the role.
