Marcus Tavernier’s emergence for Middlesbrough and England has caught the attention of a number of Premier League clubs including Everton and Arsenal.
The 18-year-old won Under-19 international caps in games against Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Bulgaria during the break and impressed watching scouts.
Tavernier, a left-winger, has broken in Garry Monk’s side in recent weeks and scored the winner against Sunderland at the start of November. His other two Championship appearances were also Boro victories.
He scored in the League Cup tie at Bournemouth and despite only making six first-team games is interesting clubs on the look out for new English talent.
