Aitor Karanka has told Gareth Southgate he would not regret including Middlesbrough’s Adam Forshaw in his next England squad.
The interim Three Lions boss was at the Riverside Stadium last weekend to watch Forshaw dominate a midfield battle with Jack Wilshere during Boro’s 2-0 victory over Bournemouth.
Indeed, Sportsmail revealed earlier this week that Southgate left Teesside raving about the 25-year-old and is considering handing the former Everton trainee a maiden call-up.
Karanka signed Forshaw from Wigan for £2million in January 2015 and he was a key part of the team which won promotion last season.
