KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's golf program had a fantastic front nine at the opening round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Sunday but struggled on the back nine of the Cherokee Country Club. The Blue Raiders finished the first round in seventh, shooting 295 (+11).
Kendall Maynard led the team on day one, shooting her fourth one-under-par of the season. With the round below par, she moved into a tie for the team lead with four rounds at par or better. The senior had a fantastic front nine, shooting two birdies and the rest at par to go out at 33.
