BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a day of events at the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Middle Tennessee women's team is ranked first with 38 points, while the men's squad is ranked third with 33.50 points.
While the first day held many preliminary events, the Blue Raiders were able to secure crucial points in the relay and distance events.
In the men's 5,000 meter, Shadrack Matelong finished fifth in 14:28.99, while Amos Cheruiyot finished sixth (14:36.55).
The distance medley relay team of Alden Dixon, Ifiok Umoh, Sampson Laari and Geoffry Cheruiyot captured first in 10:03.
