SAN ANTONIO – A 13-day layoff between games did little to slow Middle Tennessee's momentum as the Lady Raiders claimed an 85-56 triumph at UTSA in the C-USA opener for both teams here Thursday.
Junior Courtney Whitson highlighted the Lady Raider win with a dazzling performance. Whitson established career highs for points, field goals and 3-pointers to lead the Lady Raiders. Whitson poured in a game-high 31 points on 12-of-20 shooting, including a sizzling 6-of-11 from 3-point range.
"My teammates did a great job of getting me the ball in scoring situations, and I was able to knock down some shots," Whitson said.
