NASSAU, Bahamas -- MTSU started fast but couldn't finish in a 45-31 setback against Western Michigan in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl lastThursday afternoon.
The game was close throughout and it was tied 31-31 in the fourth quarter, but Western Michigan (8-6) scored 14 unanswered points to pull away and come away with the victory. The loss ended a four-game win streak for the Blue Raiders (7-6).
"Congratulations to Western Michigan. I thought it was a really good football game," said MTSU coach Rick Stockstill. "We gave up too many big plays. Keys coming into the game were stopping the run and limiting the big plays, and we weren't able to do either one of those.
