New pitch count rules changed the landscape of Tennessee high school baseball this past season.
Pitchers who threw a certain amount of pitches in one game would determine how many days rest they would need before throwing again.
The result was that some pitchers threw only one game in the state tournament after they exceeded said pitch counts.
During the TSSAA Board of Control meetings this week, the rules were modified slightly, but the end result is teams will need to continue deeper pitching staffs due to the amount of days rest a pitcher will be required.
