MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Three Blue Raiders have qualified to represent their countries in the 2024 Paris Olympics. 2023 Middle Tennessee graduate Alaba Akintola will be representing Nigeria, sophomore sprinter John Sherman will be representing Liberia, and recent graduate Leonie Beu will be representing Papua New Guinea.
Akintola will be competing in the men's 4 x 100-meter relay for Nigeria. This marks the first time in 16 years that the Nigerian men have qualified for the Olympics in the 4 x 100-meter relay, last happening in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
