When Ohio State commitment Master Teague limped off the field in the first quarter Friday with an ankle injury, the raucous homecoming atmosphere at Blackman's "Inferno" cooled off considerably.
But when the Blaze (4-0) rolled to a 42-10 win anyway, the fans, players and coaching staff found a different reason to celebrate -- a team with depth and the ability to overcome adversity.
"That's what we expect. We have enough players and leadership that if someone gets sick or injured it's next man up," Blaze coach David Watson said.
That man on Friday night was primarily senior running back Cordel Braxton, who racked up nearly 160 total yards and a touchdown after Teague went out a little over three minutes into the contest.
