Smyrna's football team lost a wealth of talent from last year's team, including three-year starting quarterback John Turner who signed at MTSU.
The Bulldogs also lost the bulk of their offensive line, as well as running back Casey Perkins.
However, coming out of spring practice, Bulldogs' coach Matt Williams was impressed with he saw and hopes his squad will be in a reloading, rather than a rebuilding mode.
"We lost our quarterback, who was a great leader, but (sophomore) Caleb Perkins did a good job in the spring for us," Williams said. "The main thing is we also have to replace all five offensive linemen, and that was a point of emphasis in the spring.
