Siegel's baseball team is one victory making its first-ever appearance at Spring Fling.
The Stars captured their first-ever Region 4-AAA title on Wednesday night by shutting out Stewarts Creek 5-0 at home.
Sophomore starting pitcher John Ross Langworthy hurled a two-hit shutout and the Stars broke the game open early to defeat the Red Hawks. In five postseason games, Stars pitchers have allowed just six runs.
"It feels great," Langworthy said. "All these seniors deserve this, and I'm proud to be a part of it."
Siegel is scheduled to play Rhea County Friday night at 6, but the game could be moved to Saturday night at 6 due to potential heavy rain.
