COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – James Sells made an impression in his first collegiate start in Middle Tennessee baseball's 8-4 win over Tennessee Tech Tuesday night.
After five previous outings as a reliever and allowing just one run over his last eight innings entering Tuesday, Sells got the nod and came through by pitching a gem against a strong Tennessee Tech offense.
A freshman from Winchester, Tenn., Sells was nearly untouchable retiring the first 17 batters faced, fanning eight and allowing just a bloop single over 6.1 innings pitched.
Sells received plenty of run support early on by the Blue Raider bats.
