Riverdale's girls weathered the storm and then stormed off to reach the Class AAA state championship Friday at Murphy Center.
The Lady Warriors saw a 16-point lead trimmed to two in the third quarter before closing with the period on a 10-0 run en route to defeating Memphis Central 80-58 in the BlueCross Championships.
Riverdale (31-4) will play Oak Ridge (29-4) in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m.
"It's the best feeling on the planet," said Riverdale coach Randy Coffman. If you're a basketball coach this is what you strive for each and every year.
