FORT MYERS, Fla. – A disappointing start to the 2019 Conference USA Championship on Monday has Middle Tennessee sitting in ninth place at 13-over par (301) with 36 holes left to recover.
The Blue Raiders missed some birdie opportunities early in the day, and as the sun came out and the day wore on, they were unable to get many more to drop on the back nine.
"We didn't have the birdie putts fall early and I think that made it tough on us mentally," head coach Chris Adams said. "With a couple of those birdie putts early we could have had a lot more confidence from the start.
