BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team outshot Samford 16-13 on Thursday night, but was held scoreless as the Bulldogs defeated the Blue Raiders 3-0 at the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium.
Samford (2-1-2, 0-0-0 SoCon) put the Blue Raiders in an early 1-0 hole just four minutes into the contest as Alyssa Frazier scored to put the Bulldogs up early.
The Bulldogs added two insurance goals quickly after that in the 12th minute and the 22nd minute to give Samford the comfortable lead. Middle Tennessee (3-2-0, 0-0-0 C-USA) had nine shots on goal compared to Samford's five with none able to hit the back of the net.
