MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee simply ran into a hot team Saturday night at the Murphy Center.
While sitting towards the bottom of Conference USA in the standings, Rice (12-13, 4-8) went into the night one of the hottest teams in the league. The Blue Raiders (6-19, 2-10) finally cooled the Owls off in the second half but couldn't complete a comeback, falling 91-83.
"Obviously, they're playing really well," MT head coach Nick McDevitt said. "I didn't think we did a very good job of guarding them, and I think it kind of came down to that.
